The Life and Journey of Pa Ndeh

With profound sorrow and deep remembrance, the family announces the passing of Nazarius Nkwenti Ndikum, who departed this life peacefully at home on November 12, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on February 13, 1949, in Akum, Northwest Cameroon, Nazarius was born into the royal family of Akum as the son of Fon Ndikum I. His life was shaped by the dignity, humility, and quiet strength he inherited from this noble lineage, and he carried these qualities with grace throughout his journey.

Nazarius was a man of peace and gentle spirit, known for his calm demeanor, wise restraint, and deep respect for others. He valued privacy, carried himself with quiet confidence, and approached life with thoughtful discretion, traits that earned him lasting admiration from all who knew him. Sensitive, loving, and loyal, he placed family and friendship at the center of his life. As a devoted Catholic Christian, he cherished the Lord and lived out his faith with sincerity, grace, and unwavering devotion.

Nazarius received his early education in Nigeria, and upon returning to Cameroon, began his professional career as a banker at BICC Bank in Buea. Together with his wife of over 45 years, Beltha Nkwenti, he built a warm and loving home in Buea, where their three daughters were born. Their journey later carried them to the United States, where their son was welcomed into the family. After time in Boston, they moved to Minnesota, joining a large network of extended family and staying closely connected to their roots and community.

In retirement, Nazarius returned to Akum, spending five peaceful years in the village he cherished, surrounded by family, nature, and the gentle rhythms of home. Health challenges later brought him back to the United States, and in 2020 he settled in California. There, despite enduring a series of illnesses, he continued to face life with quiet courage and unwavering faith until the Lord called him home.

Nazarius found joy in life’s simple pleasures, sharing conversations with his nieces and nephews, many of whom were among his closest companions; enjoying his whiskey; savoring oxtails; and listening to the gospel and country music that lifted his spirit.

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Beltha Nkwenti; his four children, Laura, Edna, Jecinta, and Dominic; and his 13 beloved grandchildren. He is also lovingly remembered by a wide circle of extended family, dear friends, and all who were blessed to know him.

Though his presence will be profoundly missed, he leaves a legacy of peace, love, humility, royal dignity, and deep faith that will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who cherished him.

May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
